Sweet Stamps: Paper Piecing and Western Challenge

I have two cards to share with you today as a guest designer for Sweet Stamps.

Paper Piecing Card
The current monthly technique challenge at Sweet Stamps is on Paper Piecing. Here is my contribution:

I started by stamping this bee on two separate sheets of patterned papers. I cut out the eyes and wings from the pale blue sheet and popped it on top of the yellow sheet.

I wanted a school theme so I placed the bee in front of a slate board and paper pieced some chalk and a chalk holder. I had the bee write the sentiment, which is actually this stamp

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
365 Cards: Day 259 - In a Bubble
Lady Anne's Challenges: #11 Anything Goes

Western Card
The current weekly challenge theme at Sweet Stamps is Western. I made a shaker card for my nephew since he likes to dress up like a cowboy when he goes to Knott's Berry Farm.

I made a scalloped frame around the photo using some punched circles of a horse silhouette stamp. Here is the card when it is shaken.

I used a quick and easy washi tape technique to make the shaker element.

If you would like further details on either card, please see this post. If you would like to enter the paper piecing challenge, please go here. If you would like to enter the Western challenge, please go here

I'm entering this in the following challenges:
Divas by Design: Anything Goes
Inklings & Yarn: Inky Linky Party 30
Clear it Out Challenge Blog: Theme - Boys, Stash - Circle Punch

Love to Scrap: Anything Goes! Challenge

The Challenge
Hello scrappy friends! I'm back and better than ever after being hit with strep throat this past week. I'm so glad I turned in this project early, otherwise I don't think I could have created anything of merit this week. Today is the start of Love to Scrap's Challenge #5: Anything Goes. You can make any type of project without any restrictions. My creation is a classroom set of owl and flower pens.

The Sponsor
The design team members were given stamps from this week's sponsor, Jellypark Digital Crafts, to work with. I chose to feature a cute set of four owls. The winner of this challenge will receive 5 digital stamps of their choice from our sponsor as a prize.

The Details
When I saw the four little owls, I thought they would make cute pen toppers. I printed out two sets of owls. I colored in each owl using Copics, circle punched and laminated them. I used foam adhesive and adhered them back to back with a wire floral stem in the middle. I purchased a silk flower bouquet and cut off one stem with a set of leaves still attached for each pen. The pen had a small hole at the end which I made slightly bigger using the tip of my wire cutter and then placed the stem inside. I wrapped washi tape around the barrel of the pen and tied a ribbon at the end for the finishing touches.

I had all of the flowers and more leaves left over from my bouquet so I decided to make a class set of 24 pens for my sister's first grade class. I knew they planted a garden at school this year so I told her to plant the pens in the garden and have the students each pick one and then use it to write a final draft for an assignment related to their gardening unit. I hope they liked it, and I wonder if they thought it really grew from their garden.

Please join us at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog during the next two weeks and link up any of your creations, or just hop on by and see the rest of the inspirational projects from the design team.

I'm entering this in:

Sweet Stamp Shop: November Release Blog Hop

The Hop
Welcome to Sweet Stamp Shop's November new release hop. There is a new hop each day (Tu. - Th.) this week featuring a different set of stamps. Today's hop is a health themed set entitled Get Fit. If you came from Kelly's blogyou are in the right place. Here is the blog order.

Michelle (←you are here)
Kim (←go here next)

The Reveal #1
I utilized the "get fit" theme by making a healthy snack pack for a friend who is on a Paleo diet. I purchased some snacks, placed it in a cellophane bag and make a topper using some of the cute stamps.

I used some mini alphas for the title.

For the embellishments, I stamped some of the images, colored them in with Copics and added some Glossy Accents for a shiny glow.

The Reveal #2
For my second project, I decided to use the set in an unintended way. I took the scale stamp and converted it into a mini-frame on this back to school card.

I hope you enjoy seeing all the new creations prepared by the design team!
