The Kit:
January's Fresh Baked Kit entitled, "Warms Your Heart" features bright, fun colors from My Mind's Eye's Happy Day paper pad, SRM Valentine border stickers, clear tubes and a new release stamp set from Fresh Squeezed Stamps called, "Hot, Hot, Hot!"
The Reveal:
I always associate Sweetheart candies (conversation hearts) with Valentine's Day because I used to give them to my students. Then they had related activities to conduct using the candies on Valentine's Day.
I wanted to replicate the look of the candy box on a Valentine's card.
The Details:
I punched out numerous 1/2" wide hearts on the three differently colored cardstock and wrote sayings on each heart. I adhered them to a background piece of patterned paper. On the front of the card I cut out a heart shaped window and trimmed it with an open heart border. Behind the window, I added a piece of the clear plastic bag that holds the embellishments in the kit and then the patterned paper with the hearts and lastly the pink cardstock so the inside of the card looks undisturbed.
The piece of plastic bag really gives it the look of the candy box which had a heart window. I cut a 1/2 x 6" strip of patterned paper and folded it into the banner shape and trimmed the edges. I adhered only the two end pieces so the banner pops up in the middle, so I could place the sentiment there while further simulating the design.
